Deafway

We have a great link with Deafway and are currently planning a history day where members of the local community can also attend.  The children can also access the community gardens at Deafway.

Holme Slack Primary School

Royal Cross links with other schools such as Holme Slack where our deaf children can meet other deaf peers in the community.

LCC - Teachers of the Deaf

We work alongside othe Teachers of the Deaf at Lancashire making sure all deaf children receive the same experiences and support.  We have provided training days for Teachers of the Deaf which have included visual phonics and colourful semantics.

The Hive, Ashton Community Science College.

We are working closely with our local Secondary Deaf Support Unit to help prepare our children for a move to Key Stage 3.

The Tor View Specialist Learning Community

Royal Cross is part of the North West Specialist Curriculum and Assessment Partnership, to share good practice; explore research and current guidance.

Manchester University

Royal Cross work closely with Manchester University, supporting students in their journey to becoming a Teacher of the Deaf.  Staff also attend training days at Manchester University to keep up-to-date with research and practice.

Sign Bilingual Consortium Curriculum and Assessment 

Royal Cross takes part alongside other specialist schools for the deaf nationally, working to promote and support deaf education in the UK and promote the best outcomes for deaf children throughout their education and at all phases.
